Yes. The body is IP65 sealed, the rating that protects against dust and water jets. In practical terms, it withstands both the Breton autumn and the heatwaves of the South. The aluminum is treated and the acrylic is UV-resistant, so it doesn't yellow after two summers.
A classic E27, the kind you find everywhere. For an entryway, go for a 6 to 9 W warm white LED, around 2700K. You get a welcoming light without dazzling your visitors, and when the time comes, you can change the bulb yourself in thirty seconds.
Aim the center of the light fixture at around 1.90 m above the ground, offset by 20 to 30 cm from the side of the door. At this height, the lower beam illuminates the lock and the doormat, while the upper beam lights up the facade. For the mains connection, please call an electrician.
The round softens a very geometric facade, whether in stone or cladding. The square aligns its edges with a modern door frame and blends in. Both produce exactly the same double beam: the choice is purely a matter of dialogue with your wall.
